According to the extremely brief website biography, Carl Warner was born in Liverpool in 1963 and has spent most of his life drawing and taking pictures. He has worked mainly in the advertising industry for the past twenty years, based at his London studio, and now lives with his (as he says) "long suffering" wife and four children in the Kent countryside.

Selon la biographie très brève sur son site, Carl Warner est né à Liverpool en 1963 et il a passé la plupart de sa vie à dessiner et à faire du photo. Il a travaillé principalement pour la pub depuis vingt ans, dans son atelier à Londres, et il vit aujourd'hui avec (comme il dit) sa femme "qui supporte tout depuis toujours" et leurs quatre enfants à la campagne de Kent.

There is not an awful lot of information out there on Carl. For starters, his foodie photos have been doing the rounds on the French-speaking internet with an unfortunate error: the French speakers think his given name is "Car". I did manage to find a French site that added another precious bit of information: he can't get his children to eat their vegetables.

Il n'y pas beaucoup d'information là sur Carl. Pour commencer, ses photos gastronomiques font le tour de l'internet francophone avec une erreur malheureuse: les francophones pensent que son prénom est "Car". Mais j'ai réussi à trouver un site français avec encore un bout d'information précieuse: il peut pas faire manger de légumes à ses enfants.

Breakfast in Paris/Petit Dej' à Paris
A wonderful little blog that I stumbled on for those who love French pastrymaking - Carol Gillot offers a watercolor a day as she jaunts about Paris checking out everything from Ladurée macaroons to Dalloyau opera cakes.

Latte Coffee Art/L'art du café latte
I love eating or drinking where they know you. For example Le Select in Paris, near Vavin, has been an early morning hangout of mine for several years. The waiters watch me come in the door and wordlessly bring me a café-crème (no sugar necessary) and a warm croissant without my saying anything other than good morning.
As a food lover, I was thus wandering in the realm of good grub videos and came across this surprising and little-known specialty: latte art. Some of the techniques I recognize from my years as a food and wine interpreter; I saw cuisine and pastry chefs use them to decorate their work for that final astonishing finish. J'adore manger ou boire là où on te connait. Par exemple, Le Select à Paris, près de Vavin, est devenu un peu ma cantine d'une façon matinale pendant plusieurs années. Les serveurs me voient entrer par la porte et sans un mot ils m'apportent un café crème (les sucres, c'est pas la peine) et un croissant chaud, sans que je dise quoi que ce soit, à part bonjour.
En tant que quelqu'un qui aime manger, ainsi j'errais dans le domaine de vidéos "bonne bouffe" et j'ai découvert cette spécialité surprenante et peu connu: l'art du café latte. Quelques-une des techniques je reconnais de mes années comme interprète dans la gastronomie et le vin; les chefs cuisine et les chefs pâtissiers les utilisaient pour décorer leur travail pour cette finition étonnante.
